Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get there?

Moose Lake is approximately 250km east of Edmonton.  There are several small towns and gas stations along the way for pit stops.

What cities/towns are close by the camp?

Franchere Bay is the closest gas station, less than 5 minutes away.  Bonnyville is less than 15 minutes from camp and has a good variety of amenities.  Cold Lake is the largest center, another 30 minutes past Bonnyville, with all major amenities.

Is the water safe to drink?

All water sources at camp are portable, and are hooked up to an underground well-system.  Sometimes campers do not prefer the taste of well-water, but it is safe for drinking.  It is not recommended that you drink the water from the lake.

Can I bring a dog?

Dogs are allowed at camp but they must be kept on a leash at all times.  We would recommend not bringing a dog that is aggressive, noisy or unsocialized.

Can I bring an ATV?

There are several trails for ATVing surrounding the camp, but ATV use inside the campground is prohibited.

Do I need to bring my own lifejacket or watercraft?

The camp has many lifejackets of all sizes for campers, as well as non-motorized watercraft like paddle-boards, canoes, kayaks and sailboats.  People may wish to bring  motorized watercraft but do so at their own risk.

Do I need to bring my own food and snacks?

All meals will be provided, as well as an evening snack.  A tuck shop will be available, and will sell cold drinks, ice cream treats, candy, chocolate bars and some hot snacks.
